History

Carina Heights is named after the daughter of one of the town’s residents from the middle of the 19th century. Ebenezer Thorne had a daughter named Kate Carina. The suburb Carina Heights separated from the suburb of Carina in 1975. The residential suburb now has a diverse population including a number of New Zealand, South Korean, and British born residents.
