Situated in the Moreton Bay Region of Queensland, Caboolture South has a population of 4,857. The suburb is located 45km to the north of Brisbane. It is one of five suburbs that make up the Caboolture urban centre. Caboolture South sits to the south of the original Caboolture township.

History

Caboolture South is, effectively, the southern part of Caboolture. Caboolture was founded in 1842, but its history goes back much further. The name Caboolture is taken from the Aboriginal Yugarabul language, and means “the place of the carpet snake.” Before the 2001 census, Caboolture was an independent urban centre. However, it is now a part of Brisbane.

In addition to residential homes, there are a number of businesses in Caboolture South. The suburb is also home to the Caboolture Special School. There are rural areas to the East of the suburb.
