The number of visits to a physiotherapist will depend on the severity of the injury / condition, and the progress of your recovery. At your initial consultation, the therapist can usually give you an idea of what your treatment will consist of and how long it may be necessary to attend the practice for treatments and also how long you will have to continue exercising independently at home.
Normally, Medicare does not cover Physiotherapy, but if your doctor considers that you have an ongoing chronic condition, then you can be put on a Care Plan and receive up to 5 services per calendar year which can be shared between Physiotherapy and other Allied Health Practitioners.
