Brendale is a suburb some 20km north of the Brisbane CBD near Strathpine and adjacent to the Pine River with a population of 2,000 people. It was first settled in 1870, the flat grasslands proving good for dairy pasture.

Brendale is mainly a light industrial and small manufacturing area, but large tracts of land remain undeveloped. Office complexes, warehouses, trucking companies, storage facilities and car parts outlets stand amidst paddocks where cows and horses graze; in fact, Brendale was named after a horse stud in 1980. In terms of shopping, the area is dominated by Westfield Shopping Town at neighbouring Strathpine which also has a cinema complex. Westfield is the central point for local and city bus routes, and the nearest railway station is also Strathpine.

In June 2013 it was announced that a multi-million dollar industrial estate was to be built in Brendale by property developers vanriet, further cementing the area’s reputation as the light industry leader in Brisbane’s north.
