History

Bray Park is a relatively new area. It is named after the shire council chair who ordered many post-war housing projects in Strathpine West, John Bray. The name was gazetted in 1970. Eventually schools started opening in the area to meet demand. Bray Park railway station was built in 1986.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Bray Park is mostly residential, but it has lots of local amenities. There is a drive-in shopping centre called Kensington Village, and further shops on Gympie Road for a spot of retail therapy. A small local park runs along Four Mile Creek towards the south of the suburb. A sports centre in the north has facilities for rugby, netball, and baseball, and is named after Les Hughes.
