History

Biggera Waters has been a farming and fishing hub for many years. This is due to the town’s location on the Broadwater estuary. Settlers in the 19th century brought commercial activity to the area through these industries. In the 1950s Biggera Waters saw rapid change as property was built on an abandoned aerodrome site.
