History

Auchenflower used to be a collection of rural estates. It was named by Thomas McIlwraith. Trams have been in use in the area since 1900, until the Paddington tram depot fire in 1962. More recently the Auchenflower suffered during the 2010-2011 floods, but has remained resilient.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Auchenflower is home to Moorlands and Raymont Lodge. Both are heritage-listed buildings and draw a number of tourists each year. The Bicentennial Bikeway runs through Auchenflower, connecting the central business district of Brisbane to Toowong.
