West Hoxton is a suburb of Sydney. It is located 40km west of the CBD in the local government area of the City of Liverpool and has a population of over 9000.

History

West Hoxton is an extension of Hoxton Park. In 1887, Hoxton Park was named when Phillips and Co, a syndicate, subdivided the land under that name.

In 1816, Thomas Setrop Amon, a London solicitor, arrived in Sydney. In 1818, he was granted 800 acres of land in the area.

West Hoxton saw most of its development in the late 1990s as a residential area where the population increased more than sixfold between 1996 and 2001. It is now a highly affluent suburb.

West Hoxton is home to four schools. These schools are Clancy Catholic College, West Hoxton Public School, Greenway Park Public School, and Thomas Hassall Anglican College.
