Welcome to Sydney Olympic Park, NSW

Sydney Olympic Park has a small population of about 65 and is situated in the state of New South Wales. It is 16 kilometres west of Sydney’s central business district and became a suburb in 2009.

History

Before the British settlement, Sydney Olympic Park was home to the Wangal clan. In the 1980s, the area was a technology park called the Australia Centre. It was home to some good businesses like Sanyo, Philips and BASF. However, the park was moved to the town of Eveleigh.

10 years later, the area was transformed into the site for the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Since then, it has been developed into an event and entertainment facility.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Sydney Olympic Park hosts more than 5000 events every year. Annual events include the Rugby Union, Sydney Royal Easter Show and Supanova Pop Culture Expo.

The area has an art exhibition space, BMX track and artist studio facility, as well as a skate park and theatre. There are also lots of park and hotels in and around Sydney Olympic Park.
