Riverview is a suburb on Sydney’s lower North Shore, just 9km from the Sydney CBD. It is perched on the northern side of the Lane Cover River, and has a population of 3,154.

History

Riverview’s name stems from its prime location on the edge of the Lane Cove River. The historic Jesuit school, St Ignatius’ College, was built here in 1880. Riverview is also home to Tambourine Bay, named after Tambourine Nell (or Sal), who lived in a cave on the foreshore while hiding from police.

With several parks, reserves, and shops, Riverview is a popular suburb for families to live and play. The Marjorie York Reserve has a playground for kids, while Tambourine Bay Reserve has BBQ and picnic facilities. Riverview is also near Lane Cove’s main shopping district.
