Revesby is a residential suburb in south-western Sydney. It is 22km from the Sydney Central Business District. It has a population of 12,935.

History

Revesby was named after a famous botanist called Sir Joseph Banks. Sir Banks was also known as the Squire of Revesby, and he sailed on the Endeavour ship with Captain James Cook. Bankstown South was the first school to open in the area in 1896. It is now called Revesby Public School. There is also a school called the Sir Joseph Banks High School which is named after the same man as the suburb.

There are lots of good places to shop in Revesby including boutiques and speciality shops. There are also lots of restaurants and places to eat out. There is an arts and crafts fair on the last Saturday of every month. It has over 80 stalls as well as live entertainment.
