History
Louth grew up around a pub. An immigrant from County Louth in Ireland opened this establishment in 1859 to cater for the people travelling along the Darling River. You can still see the original post office in Louth.
Lifestyle and Entertainment
Louth has a number of amenities to serve the local people or visitors to the area. These include a pub (which doubles as a shop and café), and a tennis club. There is also a school.
The Louth Races is an annual event that takes place in summer, and has put this small village on the map. Nearly 5,000 people attend this horse racing meet, and there are prizes for the best-dressed man and woman.
