As a family-owned business since 1987, we’ve built a reputation in and around Katoomba for reliable, durable lawn solutions. Our turf range includes fast-repairing Kikuyu, shade-tolerant Soft Leaf Buffalo varieties (Palmetto® and Prestige), and a cool-season Tall Fescue blend. Each variety is grown for performance, resilience, and ease of maintenance, giving customers long-term value and a healthy, vibrant lawn.
At Greenacres Turf Farm in Katoomba, we offer tailored advice on choosing the right turf for your environment and lifestyle. Kikuyu thrives in full sun and high-traffic areas with rapid growth and recovery. Palmetto® Buffalo requires less mowing and offers excellent drought resistance and winter colour. Prestige delivers a year-round deep green appearance and dense coverage. Our Tall Fescue blend, with Kentucky Blue Grass, suits cooler climates and provides soft texture, strong root systems, and adaptability to both sun and partial shade.
We guide you through lawn preparation and upkeep to ensure long-term results. We recommend clearing old vegetation, treating weeds, and rotary hoeing soil to 100mm depth. For clay soils, we apply gypsum; poor soils may need turf underlay. Turf is laid tightly with staggered joins and watered immediately. Starter fertiliser supports early growth, followed by mowing two weeks post-installation. We advise seasonal fertilising, sharp mowing, pest checks, and proper watering for lawn health and durability across all turf varieties.
