History

Aboriginals from the Cabrogal tribe lived in the area.

White settlement began in the early 19th century. The suburb was named after a major road that cuts through St. John’s. It became a suburb on 3 August 1979.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Greenfield Park has a small shopping centre. It has a supermarket, bakery and specialty shops. The area houses the St. Hurmizd Cathedral. It is Australia’s largest Assyrian church. There are two schools in the suburb. It includes St. Johns Park High School and St. Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School.
