Croydon Park is a green suburb in New South Wales with an estimated population of 10,700. It is situated about 12 kilometres south-west of Sydney’s central business district and has a mix of cultures.

History

The area of Croydon Park was once home to the Darug tribe. They would camp along Cooks River before the British settlers took over the land.

In the late-1880s, a railway station was built and the area was given its name of Croydon Park. The first school in the suburb was built around 1886. A two-storey mansion was built in 1890, which is now a heritage-listed building and used by students of Moore Theological College.

Croydon Park has several parks and recreation facilities including Rosedale Reserve, Flockhart Park and Lees Park. There are good quality restaurants in the area, as well as a few schools.
