History

Busby takes its name from James Busby. Born in 1801, James Busby is seen as the founder of the Australian wine industry. He taught viticulture at the Male Orphans School in Bald Hills.

These days, Busby is a small suburb that is popular with families. The area has many parks. These include Bradshaw Park, Whitlam Park, and Formica Park. Whitlam Park takes its name from Gough Whitlam.

Busby has three schools. There are two primary schools called Busby Public School and Busby West Public School. The high school is called James Busby High School.
