Bexley is a suburb in New South Wales and one of Sydney’s hidden gems. The area has a population of over 19,000 and is located 14 kilometres south of Sydney’s central business district.

History

A man called James Chandler named Bexley after his birthplace in the south-east of London, England. The suburb is home to Lydham Hall, which is the oldest surviving home in the area.

Bexley was better developed after the railway line to Hurstville opened in 1884.
