Berowra Heights is a suburb in northern Sydney, 29km north-west of the CBD. In the local government area of Hornsby Shire, it has a population of over 5,100.

History

The suburb takes its name from an aboriginal word that translates to “place of many winds”. It is east of the suburb of Berowra Waters and north-west of the suburb of Berowra.

Due to the proximity of bushland, bushfires present a threat to the suburb. The urbanised parts of the suburb have fire protection services provided by Station 75 of Fire and Rescue NSW. The bushland areas have fire protection services provided by NSW Rural Fire Service.

On 2 September 1968, Berowra Heights Post Office opened.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Berowra Heights is home to two shopping centres: Berowra Marketplace and the Village Green. Features of these shopping centres include a bank, two pharmacies, a number of restaurants, a medical centre, and a Coles supermarket.
