We are local Orange company with over 55 years of combined drilling experience working extensively throughout New South Wales.
We provide water bore services for homes, farms, and businesses in NSW. We are 100% family owned and operated. Clive Jones has been drilling since he was 15, and his son Bryan Jones has followed in his footsteps. Bryan's Son, Ethan has since joined the team here. Simultaneously these three generations work together, lifting industry standards to provide you with a service we proudly call our own.

CBJ Drilling Services is a trusted name in Bathurst and surrounding regions, delivering professional boring and drilling solutions. With over 55 years of combined experience, our family-run team offers tailored water bore construction for residential, commercial, and agricultural clients. We specialise in drilling reliable water sources for farms, vineyards, sporting clubs, and hospitals. Our process includes site assessment, licensing guidance, and precision drilling backed by industry knowledge across three generations of dedicated service.

We conduct free onsite inspections to evaluate bore location, considering underground utilities, geography, and access. Our services go beyond drilling—we perform gravel packing to stabilise the casing and bore development to clear debris and boost water flow. We also clean and reline aging bores to restore performance. Every step meets government compliance standards, ensuring your water supply is sustainable, legal, and efficient. Our team simplifies the process while delivering dependable, long-term water solutions.

In addition to Bathurst, we operate throughout rural and regional NSW, using advanced tools like the Sullair Combo Compressor to drill through challenging terrain with precision and speed. Whether you need a new irrigation bore, restoration of an existing well, or help navigating licensing requirements, we offer end-to-end solutions. Our focus on quality workmanship and practical outcomes ensures your bore functions at its best—no matter the land type or demand. CBJ Drilling Services is ready to meet your water access needs with proven drilling expertise.

FAQs

  • Why Choose CBJ Drilling Services Over Any Other Company?

We're 100% family-owned and operated company with over 55 years of combined experience in water drilling. This ensures our customers receive only the very best. We are present from the initial consultation to the bore construction completion. We do not send inexperienced drillers bearing our name to complete this very important task. Our word-of-mouth reputation is our best advertisement, and we invite you to ask around before deciding to do business with us.

  • How Long Does it Take to Get My Licence Approved & How Much Will My Licence Be?

Your approval from Water NSW for a stock and domestic bore can take from 1 day to 1 month depending on your individual licencing requirements. Irrigation licences will take longer. Pricing for a stock & domestic bore licence can vary and it is best to check on the Water NSW website . These prices can change without notice. You must supply all the requested information to speed up your application.

  • Why do I Require a Licenced Driller?

In all states and territories, water drillers are required to be licensed. A driller should be able to provide references and produce a licence endorsed to cover the procedures necessary to complete your bore. Being licensed ensures that the driller and the company are accountable for the workmanship. With a licence should come many years of experience in bore construction. Using an unlicensed driller can result in irreparable damage to aquifers and the environment.

  • How Do I Purchase a Pump for My Bore?

Once invoicing is finalised, we will forward your Form A documents to you. These documents are then taken to your preferred supplier who will tailor make the pump to your needs. You can only purchase a pump for your bore once you have these documents.
