Bardwell Valley sits 12km south of the Sydney CBD in the local government area of the Bayside Council. Part of the St George area, it has a population of over 2000.

History

Bardwell Valley was a large part of the lands of the Cadigal people prior to European settlement.

Bardwell Park is named after Thomas Hill Bardwell, a wealthy pastoralist from southern NSW who bought the land in 1853.

Bardwell Valley was the last remaining area with significant natural vegetation cover after the development of the Arncliffe and Bardwell park areas in the 1900s. This made it the ideal location for a golf course.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Bardwell Valley is home to the Bardwell Valley Golf Course. The course sits beside the banks of Bardwell Creek on Hillcrest Avenue.
