Arndell Park is a suburb of Western Sydney. It falls under the City of Blacktown local government area, forms part of the Eastern Creek Area. Arndell Park is almost entirely industrial, with a population of just 12.

History

Arndell Park’s origins are deeply entwined with those of Australia itself. The suburb is named in honour of Thomas Arndell, who came to the country as part of the First Fleet in 1787. He was a notable surgeon, and was chosen for a post in the New South Wales settlement. In 1789, Thomas Arndell even joined Captain Watkin Tench’s expedition from Prospect Hill to the Nepean River.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Although mostly industrial, Arndell Park does have several commercial features. The shopping centre includes an Aldi, Subway, medical centre and bottle shop, amongst various other outlets. The Harold Laybutt Sporting Complex is also based here, as is the Travelodge Hotel Blacktown Sydney.
