Anna Bay is a suburb, town, and bay in Port Stephens. It is one of the main entry points to Stockton Beach, and has a population of 3,726 according to the 2011 census.

History

During the Second World War, a line of tank traps was installed at Stockton Beach. This was done to prevent Imperial Japanese forces from entering the local area through the town. Although many tank traps were removed after the war, those that remain feature in the carpark areas around the main beach.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Anna Bay is home to the sand dunes at Birubi Beach, and is a popular location for quad-biking, camel riding, and sandboarding. The neighbouring Anna Bay Village, located five minutes away, is home to takeaway shops, supermarkets, and the local haunt, the Anna Bay Tavern.
