Lifestyle and Entertainment

The area houses the Australian Defence Force joint command facility. Kings Highway, the major highway between the ACT and south coast, runs through the town.

Residential development in Kowen is being considered. Further settlement could occur on the Kowen Plateau. Development of the Majura Parkway would provide key access to the area.
