Orthopaedic Training

Dr Katherine Gordiev graduated in Medicine from the University of Sydney (MBBS Hons I 1993). At Graduation, she was awarded the John Loewenthal Prize for Surgery at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. In 2003 Dr Gordiev completed her Orthopaedic specialisation (FRACS), undertaken through the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) training program in Sydney and Canberra.

Pre and post-operative exercise, education and physiotherapy assist the patient in preparing for surgery, and maximizing recovery after surgery.

  • What are your business hours?

    Dr Katherine Gordiev's practice hours are from 9:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, and 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Friday. Appointments can be made by phone on (02) 6260 5249.

  • Will physical therapy be required after surgery?

    Getting a full range of motion, strength and flexibility back after surgery usually takes time. That's where pre-operative exercise and education and post-operative physical therapy programs come in - to ensure you're physically and emotionally prepared for surgery, and to maximize your recovery after surgery.

  • What should I bring with me when I come for an appointment?

    When you come for your appointment remember to bring the following: Referral letter from GP or other doctor, Medicare card, DVA card, pension card, have your Private Hospital Insurance information with you, copies of results, x-rays, MRI's. CT scans etc. and any other relevant information.
