History

Casey was part of the former Gold Creek property. The area’s flat land made it useful for various pursuits, including horse racing. It was the site of a practice track used to train horses.

Baron Richard Casey, the 16th Governor General of Australia, is the town’s namesake. Street names are drawn from Australian diplomats and public servants.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Construction work began in Casey in 2008. In 2009, major roads Clarrie Hermes Drive and Horsepark Drive opened. Settlement of the suburb began in 2010.

A group shopping centre will be constructed in the southeast corner of the suburb. It will be similar to Green Square in Kingston. Developers will build a smaller shopping and commercial centre at the northern end of the town.
